Here are some examples of some of the different colour schemes I work with. Schemes can sometimes be defined by the photograph itself, if theres a strong colour presence this will keep the painting realistic. It can also sometimes be the room or location that the painting is going to be placed in that can define the colour scheme.
Backgrounds generally are kept to the colour in the photograph, i.e. if theres a background of sky it will be kept as a flat blue that compliments the rest of the scheme, likewise a grassy, leafy background will be depicted as flat green. A nighttime photo will transfer as a dark blue/black background.
